Egyptian Food Bank
Overview
The Shark Clicks team worked on developing the digital experience for the Egyptian Food Bank website to clearly present food support programs and facilitate the donation process for users from all segments. We focused on organizing initiatives and programs in a way that helps users understand the bank’s role easily and quickly. We also improved the donation journey to make it shorter and easier, while providing a smooth, mobile-friendly interface that clearly and comprehensively showcases the bank’s activities to serve visitors and donors. We also paid close attention to highlighting the impact of donations on beneficiaries by presenting the content in a humane way, which enhances users’ trust in the mission of the Egyptian Food Bank. In addition, we improved the browsing experience to help users access essential information and various services easily and without complexity. The website was also supported with interactive elements that help raise visitors’ awareness of the Food Bank’s role in the community and encourage continuous support and participation.
Our Role
- We worked on designing and developing the complete visual structure that reflects the bank’s identity and areas of work.
- We worked on providing electronic payment services and payment gateways such as Fawry, Aman, Masary, ValU, Apple Pay, Commercial International Bank, Paymob for electronic payments, Cashier for electronic payments, Amazon Payments, PayTabs for payments, Meeza Card payments, electronic wallet payments, and Vodafone Cash payments.
- We built an organized and unified Design System that includes icons, colors, fonts, and different card styles.
- We designed the UX/UI for campaign, donation, program, and volunteering pages.
- We developed the website using PHP and worked on improving performance and loading speed.
- We simplified the presentation of donation programs and organized categories in a way that helps donors choose quickly and easily.
- We worked on improving the mobile experience to ensure compatibility with all different devices.
- We integrated all electronic donation methods and connected secure and reliable payment gateways.
The challenge
The main challenge was delivering the largest possible number of initiatives and seasonal programs—such as Ramadan food boxes, winter shelter, family sponsorship, daily meals, and many other initiatives—in a clear and understandable way without distraction, while organizing the donation journey for all different programs in the best possible manner that allows users to understand the concept and donate easily through only two steps without complexity.
Our Approach
We analyzed the program pages and the different ways information was presented, then mapped the browsing and donation journey for all types of campaigns. We designed wireframes and moved to final designs that align with the Egyptian Food Bank’s identity. During the development phase, we worked on performance optimization and organizing all pages to make it easier to access core programs from the homepage. We then integrated electronic payment methods and conducted tests for the browsing and donation journey to ensure smooth and stable performance across all different devices.
Customer Journey
The customer journey was one of the most important stages in building and developing the website. The client followed all stages, from approving the designs and organizing the different programs to testing the donation experience and website performance before launch. This strong collaboration between the client and the team contributed significantly to the website’s development, reflecting the scale of the institution’s work and delivering a clear and easy experience for donors.
